Who we are

This policy is issued by SavePlanet Pty Ltd (ABN 15 694 068 632) of 22 Wallangara Boulevard, Harkness VIC ("SavePlanet", "we", "us", "our").

We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

What personal information we collect

We collect only what we need to respond to your enquiry and, if you proceed, to deliver the products and services you ask for. Depending on your dealings with us, this may include:

• Contact details - your name, email address, telephone number and postal or property address.
• Enquiry details - the products you are interested in, information about your premises and existing equipment, whether you own or rent, and any preferences or notes you give us.
• Eligibility information - information needed to assess whether you may be eligible for a government energy-efficiency incentive, which may include details of your property, your existing equipment and, for some programs, concession or household information.
• Accessibility and consent information - your confirmation that you are over 18, whether you require an interpreter, and whether you consent to being contacted.
• Consent records - the wording of the consent you were shown, the page you submitted it from, and the date and time of your submission, kept so we can demonstrate what you agreed to.
• Job records - quotes, invoices, installation records, photographs of the work, warranty documents and correspondence.
• Technical information - your IP address, browser type and the pages you viewed, collected automatically when you use this website.

We do not ask for payment card details, passwords or government identity numbers through this website.

How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you wherever possible, including when you:

• submit an enquiry or quote form on this website;
• call, email, message or otherwise contact us;
• speak with our staff during a site assessment or installation; or
• enter into an agreement with us for the supply or installation of a product.

We may also collect information from a third party where you have asked them to deal with us on your behalf, or from a referral partner where you have given them permission to pass your details to us.

We do not buy marketing lists, and we do not use cold-call telemarketing or door-to-door marketing to generate leads.

Why we collect and use it

We use personal information to:

• respond to your enquiry and contact you about it;
• prepare a quote and arrange a site assessment;
• supply products and arrange installation, including engaging installers;
• assess eligibility for, and assist with applications under, government energy-efficiency programs, and prepare the documentation those programs require;
• provide warranty, after-sales support and maintenance;
• handle complaints and enquiries;
• keep the records that applicable laws and program requirements oblige us to keep; and
• send you information about our products and services, where you have consented and have not opted out.

If you choose not to give us the information we ask for, we may not be able to respond to your enquiry, provide a quote, or assist you with a program application.

Who we share it with

We disclose personal information only where it is necessary for the purposes described above. This may include:

• Installers and subcontractors engaged to carry out work at your premises;
• Product suppliers and manufacturers, for warranty registration and warranty claims;
• Accredited persons and program administrators, where your upgrade is being carried out under a government energy-efficiency program and the program requires it;
• Service providers who support our business, such as website hosting, form handling, email, telephony and document storage providers;
• Professional advisers such as our accountants, insurers and lawyers; and
• Regulators, courts and government bodies, where we are required or authorised by law to do so.

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. Where we engage a service provider, we require them to use the information only for the purpose we gave it to them.

Marketing and how to opt out

We contact you about our products and services only where you have given us your details and consented to being contacted, or where you are an existing customer and would reasonably expect to hear from us.

You can opt out at any time by emailing info@saveplanet.com.au, calling 1300 362 724, or using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. We action opt-out requests promptly and at no cost to you.

Opting out of marketing does not stop us contacting you about an upgrade already in progress, a warranty matter, or a complaint you have made.

Cookies and website analytics

This website may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working correctly and to understand how it is used in aggregate. Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings; if you do, some parts of the site may not work as intended.

Where we use a third-party analytics service, it collects usage information such as pages viewed, approximate location and browser type. We use this to improve the website, not to identify you personally.

Storage and security

We hold personal information in electronic systems and, where relevant, in paper records. We take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, including access controls, secure storage and staff confidentiality obligations.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Information you send us over the internet is sent at your own risk.

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or for as long as applicable laws and program requirements oblige us to keep it. When it is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to destroy it or de-identify it.

Overseas disclosure

Some of the service providers we use - for example website hosting, email or document storage providers - may store data on servers located outside Australia. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure the provider handles your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Access and correction

You may ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading.

To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before we can act. We will respond within a reasonable period, ordinarily within 30 days. If we refuse access or correction, we will tell you why in writing and how you can complain about that decision.

Privacy complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please tell us. You can lodge a privacy complaint using the process on our Complaints & Dispute Resolution page, or by contacting us directly. We acknowledge complaints within 2 business days and aim to resolve them within 10 business days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can refer the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top. Please check back periodically.
